Alexis Floback
Marine and Environmental Biology
Alexis Floback is a 4th year student in the Marine and Environmental Biology department. She is interested in studying the intersection between chemical and biological oceanography. The core of her thesis research is looking at trace metal distributions and microbial biogeography off of the Oregon coast—a seasonally hypoxic and dynamic system.
She is a PhD candidate in James Moffett’s lab in the Marine and Environmental Biology section and is very involved in her section’s student government. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, game nights, and being around her cats!
